Amcor plc is a global packaging company. It develops and produces flexible packaging, rigid containers, specialty cartons, closures and services for food, beverage, pharmaceutical, medical-device, home and personal-care, and other products.

The Challenge

Energy was at an all time low

As a multinational organization who had ramped up production during the pandemic, Amcor was struggling to keep up with demand, contend with the shift to WFH, and negotiate productivity and energetic capacity of their employees.

Employees had consistently expressed throughout multiple evaluations and internal assessments that they were burnt out and unclear how to sustain performance. The employees had expressed not having time to regenerate presence or attend to basic needs such as nutrition and sleep habits. There was a culture of “always on” and not having the boundary of being in office escalated the impact on energy and focus.

As Amcor was addressing this challenge from an operational perspective, they approached EYV to support employees with skills for energy retention and sustainable expression.

 
 

The Solution

Come back to basics

Over the course of a two session virtual training to a group of approximately 500 employees, we challenged the participants to clearly identify what was within their control and what was outside of their control and build independent strategy from there.

We guided the participants through exercises to identify boundaries of responsiveness through both explicit communication with their managers as well as through systems for individual agency, such as turning off phones at night or silencing email notifications for blocks of time throughout the day.

Each participant developed a system for presence and energy activation that integrated layers of grace and compassion for self and others. This looked like processes for preparing to enter into a meeting with presence, tools to identify when presence is lost or attention is waning, and skills for activating presence even when energy was low.
